BMW Celebrates 7 Millionth Vehicle at Spartanburg Plant with Special Alpina XB7

BMW marked a major milestone last month as the 7 millionth vehicle rolled off its Spartanburg, South Carolina assembly line.

The historic model—a 2025 Alpina XB7—features custom upgrades and will remain at the plant as part of BMW’s historic collection.

Plant Spartanburg, open since 1994, now produces over 1,500 vehicles daily, including the X3 through X7 and XM models.

The XB7 boasts a 631-horsepower twin-turbo V8, exclusive interior finishes, and unique design elements from BMW’s Alpina division.

“This beautiful BMW ALPINA XB7 is a testament to the great products we have, the quality of our supplier network, and the unwavering commitment and dedication of our valued associates,” said Dr. Robert Engelhorn, president and CEO of BMW Manufacturing in a press release. “For over 30 years, BMW has proudly invested in South Carolina and its people, creating a remarkable legacy. We are excited about our future as we prepare to assemble fully electric vehicles at this plant.”

BMW is the largest U.S. vehicle exporter by value, with 60% of Spartanburg-built vehicles shipped abroad, totaling over $10 billion last year.
