South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson just asked the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) to open an inquiry into the Democrat’s main online political fundraising platforms – ActBlue.
In a letter he sent to SLED, Wilson states:
“This Office has received information regarding allegations involving Online Political Fundraising Platforms such as ActBlue. Accordingly, the Office is requesting that an agent or agents be assigned to conduct a preliminary inquiry into this matter. Please have whichever agent is assigned contact me and Senior Assistant Deputy Attorney General Creighton Waters.”
He told ABC News that his office received allegations of “smurfing,” a tactic that disguises large donations as smaller contributions. He also cited suspicious donor patterns, including individuals listed as “unemployed” or with modest jobs making large contributions.
The AG’s letter comes on the heels of President Trump’s nationwide inquiry into the internal dealings of ActBlue, as well as into Rep Adam Schiff:

SLED officials confirmed receiving Wilson’s request but have not announced whether a formal investigation will proceed.
ActBlue has not issued a public response to the concerns or the inquiry request.
